Utility company has a lock on the "approved" manufacturers. Remember the Utility Co (ie PG&E) delivers the power to the transformers. Unions don't you know.
Unions are not the problem, people are the problem, unions start out as people trying to negotiate with their employers, but yeah, people in charge can make bad decisions and give individual unions a bad name. But the reason people felt the need to band together was because the employers made bad decisions that left some of the people at the company out of the rewards of their work. It's hard to believe the disparity between managers and the people who DO the work in this country. We really have lost our way.
I don't think so. I live within the range where it would appear on the map in the Tesla app, and it's not showing up yet. But, that might mean it's just not active in the app yet. I see Arroyo, Pismo, etc., but not this one.
This one sure seems to have taken a looooong time. PG&E backlogged on transformers? Anyone else know why this was so delayed?

If I remember correctly the Santa Barbara SC was live before it appeared on the app/car. I was there the same evening it was turned on. I wouldn't be surprised to find this one live before it appears on the app/car.
@Limited photos from Jan. 9th shows there wasn’t a transformer yet. After that arrives It will still need to be wired up, metered and tested before final permit is approved.
