All,

Looks like some work has been started here at the new supercharger for the town of Shirley for the folks that live near the east end of Long Island, NY. I live about 15 minutes west of Shirley in Patchogue, and i have seen where they have selected the spots for Chargers. Decent spot, plenty of room for chargers from what it looks like it will be a 10 or 12 stall spot.

Attached is the location from the maps which corroborates to the marker placed by Tesla on their own website.

Do you have any photos of the construction? It would be helpful if you can post them.

Another thing to be aware of is that the marker on the Tesla coming soon map is usually meaningless for exact locations of future superchargers.
If you search for “Shirley, New York” on Google maps you get the same exact location you see on the Tesla map.
That looks like an excellent location but I wouldn’t bet on it.

After finding that tweet from Control Point associates (here) saying they did surveys for future Tesla Superchargers, I decided to take another crack at finding future Superchargers on One Call and came up with a new location at 999 Montauk Hwy in Shirley!!

The description is like those for Water Mill and Carle Place, except that here the work is being done for Telsa... anyway. I’m not going to add this on Supercharge Info until I can get more info (or a permit), but at this point, I think it’s worthy of having its own thread.

I found a listing for Tesla's application for planning approval (Change of Use) for the Shirley supercharger. The application was from the end of January (2021-01-29) and is listed with a status of "Intake". The report doesn't list the street address but it does give the Suffolk County Tax Map # and that agrees with the 999 Montauk Hwy. address. The indicated parcel includes the entirety of the South Port Shopping Center, but my guess is that the supercharger will be near the Stop & Shop at the far northern part of the center as Tesla has partnered with them for a couple of other superchargers in the past.

2021-0015 -- Tesla Supercharger -- Shirley -- Tesla supercharger station consisting of 1 utility transformer, 1 pad mounted electrical switch gear, 3 pad mounted Tesla supercharger cabinets, 8 tesla charge posts mounted w/in concrete curb, 1 dual headed light post, minor site work including curb, parking island modification. No parking stalls to be removed or created. -- 01/29/2021 -- Intake

Just went to Shirleys future Tesla SuperCharger. I don’t see a electric meter installed yet. Everything else looks like it’s ready to go. I tried to show where it’s located in the shopping center in the pictures. Basically it’s next to Shop N stop supermarket. It’s stuffed into a corner of the shopping center parking lot that not many people use. I wish it was in a shopping center with a restaurant so we could sit down and eat while charging, but its better then nothing. The last picture is where it’s locate. It’s the white pin with a white circle around the pin on top right of photo. Cornered between shopNstop and Marshall’s.

not quite everything. There are those pipes sticking up to the right of the cabinets, that's where the transformer goes. That and the power feed from the utility to the transformer are stilll missing. You can see the pad with the plywood on top of it in one of the pictures.
