Made my maiden voyage in new Model 3 from Chicago to Lawrence, KS. Route took me to the Springfield, IL and Columbia, MO SCs. Trip to Lawrence went as planned. Return to Chicago was a disaster. Springfield, IL SC was totally down. No chargers worked. Stuck with 35 miles of range. Called Tesla and they were not even aware of it.
Found level 2 nearby to charge enough for next SC 75 miles away. Delayed my return several hours. Wife POed as she is not an EV believer... my issue.
My points:
1. How can Tesla not know if their SCs are not functioning?
2. There has got to be a way to notify Tesla drivers of non functioning SCs. Perhaps push a message to the Teslas traveling towards that SC or in that region. Then plans can be adjusted.
Thoughts?
