From: Not enough Superchargers

Construction of a four bay supercharger site at Taupo has just started..

A bit of searching, I found: Steve Greenwood

Further comments in that link suggest it will be a 4-stall site.

Concrete bases for the chargers and electrical boxes poured, big hole next to the transformer across the road (to drop a directional drilling machine in to make a hole for the new cable?).

4 bays confirmed.
About half a mile from The near side of Taupo's dining scene.
Basic public toilets right next door, and 2 min walk to the lakeside, but no shelter, it's not somewhere to be in a cold southerly.

So 4 stands in place, 1 electrical cabinet in place and maybe wired, the other cabinet nowhere to be seen.
The hole across the road by the transformer has been filled back in.

I think it could be up and running by the end of next week. Maybe even this weekend if they install the other electrical box tomorrow.

I hadn't seen this thread before, so it's cool to see the construction history of it, especially given the current events. Unfortunately, I do wonder what future this site has if the damage is enough. Rainbow Point is just down the road now and is a 9 stall V3 site so investing a whole lot into an old V2 site probably might not be worth it for Tesla.
