I am happy to report that there are now four active charge ports at Tejon Ranch.
Truly amazing work by Tesla!
They must've heard I was coming....tomorrow!
You could think this is the beginning of something...
Allowing 60kw cars to be picked up from the factory?
That sounds like a good idea as well.
It makes me think of interstellar space travel. For whatever reason.
It does have a "spacedock" look to it.
There are also four chargers at Gilroy. The two new ones are a different design with a longer cable.
That's surely a contributing factor, while I was more referring to the fact that they are extending the number of chargers to 4 at one location, as that makes it serious. Not just one here and one there, if you know what I mean. At that point it feels like the beginning of a new level of technology being established. At least in principle, with energy directly from the sun, not depending on fossil resources from millions of years ago.
Good, the new design will require much less precision in parking. The new superchargers in CT and DE look like they've got the same design.
This now makes Harris Ranch a real choke point, with only one.
Is there any indication the locations may have a 70 amp charging option for the 40 kwh Model S's and Roadster users. I would not minding paying for the service for the few road trips I take.
I am rather surprised that this location only has one.... seems un-TM-like.
Do any of the available apps that show Superchargers contain info on the number at each location, or is it just discovered anecdotally?
Harris Ranch is expecting a slew of chargers in March? They will be over by the restaurant. Their Tesla High power Charger is the last in the wild with a Roadster connector on it. Till they get more superchargers it would be nice to have it converted to J1772. On my factory pickup I was fourth in line ( 2 hour wait). Ditto on a J1772 type charger added to the superchargers
Saw that before somewhere. Funny he couldn't find the solar panels!
That's a relief. Just posted about our supercharging experience here:
Trip to Bay Area
And my biggest complaint was the single station at Harris. I was suggesting a HPWC, but getting more superchargers would be great.
What time of day was this? I'll have to use Harris Ranch as it's exactly my halfway point from SF to Visalia and beyond.
Also does anyone know if the Superchargers communicate with Tesla (i.e. which specific chargers are in use, and could collect time of use data)? It would make life a lot easier if we knew more info and could adjust our timing for an available supercharger.
We got to Harris around 2pm.
