Sure. I'm hoping that ICING won't be an issue here since there currently isn't a lot where they're bringing the Superchargers. Should be plenty of space.
That's a new parking lot... if Tesla is picking up the cost of paving that lot, the cost for this supercharger just skyrocketed.

But if Tesla paid for the paving, the spots should be able to be marked Tesla charging only instead of some of the 60 minute general parking spots at other locations. Definitely worth the cost.
They don't have to pave the whole thing but will have to pave their spaces. They almost always have to do this with new Superchargers.
Some time ago there was a post on TMC by someone chatting with this team when they were working on Macon, about where they were headed next, and I recall the response was Tifton (which obviously was spot on) and then down 75 to (Gainesville?) Florida. Would be great if someone local could get an update/verify.
You're correct. This is the Macon crew. They mentioned Lake City, FL but did not mention that they'd be going there next.

Our contact won't be back in the area until Friday. Unfortunately I don't think a lot of TMC members drive through the area expect for road trips to beach/FL.

What makes you think it won't be ready? He simply said that his contact won't be able to check until Friday. I personally think it will get announced Wednesday or Thursday. I wish I were a little closer (3 hours away), I'd go check for you.

Maybe call The Olive Garden or Starbucks and see if they know anything? Or Tifton City Hall - (229) 382-6231. I reached out to another contact down there but haven't heard anything yet.

I just called Olive Garden and Starbucks. Both told me that crews are, at the very moment, pouring concrete and paving. Neither had any idea if it would be ready to use this weekend, though both said that it looked like they would be totally finished by the end of the day.
I just don't know what the process is to "open" a SC station. I would think there is some kind of QA test. Maybe the installers have some equipment that mimics an actual car charging and that is how they QA it. Surely Tesla does not drive a car to each location before it is opened. Maybe someone else knows that procedure.
They can bring a demo, I think, but sometimes a local owner volunteers their Model S as the test vehicle.

I know that when they tested Farmington and Blanding, the Denver Service Center brought out a Model S for verification on a flatbed trailer towed behind their Ford F250.
