That seems kind of demeaning. So a mere store clerk may be incapable of sharing what sounds like very concrete information? Instead we should trust your opinion based on what?
azred I'm sorry you took my comment as demeaning of a store clerk. As a Tucson Model S owner this site has been long overdue. What I meant, and perhaps could have said so there is no confusion is:

Let's hope the completion forecast from the staff inside the store at the Shell station for 13 October 2017 are correct. I'm looking forward to this station and the completion of I-10 eastward. I, however, am keeping my expectations in check until there is a verified report of this station being online.

I have traveled over 52,000 miles in 16 months and charged at 105 different Superchargers in 24 states and my observation has been is that sometimes it takes several weeks brAFTER everything looks to be in place before the power is actually turned on. Visiting with the construction electric worker at the Laramie Supercharger he told us he was driving from Oklahoma 10 hours to do 2 hours of final work. That was a month ago and Laramie is STILL not officially open.
I am an eternal optimist, and hope to see this open this week, but the likes of Laramie & Fort Stockton and Austin keep me wondering.
It is incredible how many new chargers ARE opening every week, so we'll be able to hit the other 24 states in our happy Tesla wandering.

I'll be there "Tucson" on Sunday for a visit with a friend. It sure would be nice to be able to take advantage of that supercharger location! Perhaps the staff there was correct in that they will be operational on Friday? Not sure how long it takes for it to pop up in the navigation once online.

If Edmonton was any guide, at least a couple of days. Although navigating to the street address should work fine. Thursday pm/Friday seems entirely reasonable but of course until it's done, it's not.

Stopped by at 1:30 this afternoon (Oct 13). No charge, "TESLA" signage not illuminated. No one was working at the site which looks completed. The transformer is set and I could hear the usual 60 Hz hum coming from it -- not loud.

@12:50 pm local. Tucson SC has transformer in place and hooked up. Mike, store manager, reported TEP was on site this morning completing their work. Still no power to the stanchions (charging cords). I think Tesla tech will have to complete testing before this station goes live.
