It has already appeared on the Supercharger.info map but I didn't see any thread. Tesla to install electric car charging stations
Thanks for creating the thread. I received this info via email. Hopefully not another case of a charger being mistaken for a supercharger. Tucumcari does seem to be one of Tesla's coming soon locations.
Well, from Amarillo. First one would have to get TO Amarillo. This is a pearl in the string that allows "cutting across the Panhandle."
If @Cottonwood says an SC is coming to a location, it will happen. I've stopped questioning his posts!
One contractor reported that they would be going to "Santa Rosa", which either means an unexpected site in Santa Rosa CA not far from Petaluma or the expected site in Santa Rosa NM.
That one would be Santa Rosa, NM. See I-40 — Marching Towards OKC The map there also show how the fuzzy Tesla map indicated Trinidad, CO and Las Vegas, NM.
I just called the front desk at the Holiday Inn Express to ask if construction had started. The guy responded, "No, I haven't heard anything about that."
Tucumcari has a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TucumcariNM "Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) will establish a Supercharging station in Tucumcari for its electric vehicles, according to Patrick Vanderpool, executive director of the Greater Tucumcari Economic Development Corporation. Vanderpool said the station is currently in its design phase but will be located in front of Tucumcari’s Holiday Inn Express motel at 2624 S. Adams St. " Posted on Feb 5, 2015.
Construction underway, though no one one site at 4 pm Friday. Three cabinets observed (still shrink wrapped). Pics this evening. Onto to Amarillo. If someone wants to x-post to the I-40 thread, please mention no sign of construction in Albuquerque.
This is really interesting. It's not on the 'coming soon' map, yet it is here before Trinidad CO, Albuquerque or Amarillo. You could do Tucumcari <-> Shamrock since it's only 208 miles, as long as you keep your speed under control, and skip Amarillo completely. Once they get ABQ up and running, you could do Oklahoma City to LA completely by supercharger.

La Quinta Inn borders the host HE Express. A large colony of red ants was disturbed by the trenching. Hope they don't go for revenge.
I just compared one of my photos to the previous post by River Brick. Does it appear that one of the cabinets has been vandalized? This may slow things down a bit. .
