I really hope it's open by then as well, but an alternative might be to top up at the Grand Casino east of OKC. That would shave 40 miles off the gap. Grand Casino - PlugShare
Other options: If you want to stay strictly to superchargers, you could detour north from OKC through Tulsa. From there to Ozark is only about 145 mi. Or, instead of detouring, you could stop and use the CHAdeMO station at the Jiffy Mart in Henryetta, OK (they have a Tesla CHAdeMO adapter in the store that is available to borrow if you don't have your own). It's ~100 mi east of the OKC supercharger on I-40 and would make the second leg to Ozark about 125 mi.
Thank you both for those locations! Will probably use the Jiffy Mart location. Considering also just towing the Tesla and driving my truck so my Wife and I dont both have to drive. Probably not till April so I imagine the Van Buren will be opened. Thanks again.
Even without driving out there to look at it, the Tesla page for it hasn't changed so it's not to a reliable point yet. Find Us | Tesla Sometimes they're active a day or two before they go live on Tesla's site or in the car's navigation, but that's really hit and miss.
The Find Us page on the Tesla website is not a reliable source for recent openings. The page is updated once per quarter, at most. The new SC will show in the in-car nav after Tesla has finished with their "soft opening" and confirmed that the site is ready for prime time.
They do update individual pages soon after they are first electrified. It's not exactly in real time, but they definitely don't wait for the next quarter.
Somewhat likely due to the "remote" locations. They will need to send a tech, probably from the nearest service center, to test and activate each supercharger, so they often do multiple superchargers in one trip. I'm not even sure where the nearest service center is, but I don't believe there is one in Arkansas.
I suspect it might actually be two different technicians considering the two sites are very far apart, and each one much closer to a different service center. Which may actually be part of its own problem. Sending someone to do that task is an all day ordeal, for each site, based on the amount of driving involved.
I went by here yesterday and it was still not open. It looks complete but the chargers are covered and say "Coming Soon". I bet they are waiting on final permitting.
