Best guess as to if this will be open by 1/15 if the birdie is in fact correct? This could solve a huge dilemma for me!!!

Disappointing but understandable, sometimes these things are told in confidence!
Interesting to note this will be the most isolated SC in the USA (by far!) ... so the nearby ones must be close as well?
I suspect/hope it will start in the month of December but I doubt it will be completed by 1/15, sorry it's not quicker but happy they're are starting on that route!!

Yeah, I'm going to predict that unless another one opens up, the ribbon cutting ceremony here is going to be pretty sparsely attended by only the brave and foolhardy.
So how might one get between Van Horn and Junction?
1. Van Horn to Ozona is 226 miles...so too far
2. Ft. Stockton to Junction is 199 miles...so too far
Does this mean there are going to have to be two SpCs between Van Horn and Junction ?????

Yes, Ozona and Ft. Stockton. Especially with the 75mph speed limit and traffic going at least 80.
