under construction - target parking lot! 1415 Main Street, Watsonville, ca 95076 - near the el pollo loco - at least 10 urban charger stalls - construction crew wouldn’t let me get that close - i’d say 80% done pretty far along - pics when i get home!
Watsonville CA, it’s between Santa Cruz and Monterey Pretty cool! Will have to visit when traveling to Monterey
apologies for pics - crew was really grumpy i was there taking pics - only able to get back side of stalls - they look like urban SC’s to me - but i physically counted 10 - but there is room for at least 14 total - a few stalls are hidden behind the brown equipment walls! good amenities el pollo loco, mcdonald’s, satrbucks, target, grocery store, panda express (bit of a hike), sushi, yogurt land, staples, papa murphy’s, taqueria, 7-11, and some mom/pop shops, not sure about restrooms off hours, cell cover is adequate but not great (1-2 bar LTE according to car), not really close to freeway, but not horrible from hwy 1 this will be a great location to help fill out hwy 1 routes- easy easy run now from big sir all the way to daly city for hwy 1 north to south! seems close to construction finished - no idea when it will be powered!
Dropped pin Near Unnamed Road, Watsonville, CA 95076 Google Maps here is the exact SC location in google maps!
Went to check out this local-to-me location last night. As posted earlier 14 Superchargers, and 2 others. They’re in the Target parking lot. Coffee, take-out,restaurants and bathrooms in the same lot. Looks like they’re all done, but still cordoned off.
Based on the photos, it looks like the chargepoints have two cables each. So that would be 4 of the J1772 chargers. I like that they're combining Superchargers and slow chargers in the same location. This is very close to where I work, so it could be very convenient for me if there's a long power outage at home, etc. I can try to scope out exactly when it opens.
Any sign of a transformer (good) or empty transformer pad (bad)? It's not done until the PG&E transformer is there (and that's one of the last steps), because without it there ain't gonna be no juice. Bruce.
