Supercharger - Waukegan, IL

A supercharger permit was recently found by MarcoRP for the address 600 Lakehurst Rd, Waukegan, IL 60085. The address 4011 Fountain Square Place was also disclosed on the recent Tesla FindUs coming soon map leak before it was retracted (which matches this location) too.

Permits have been pulled, and one inspection appears to have occurred suggesting construction may already be underway if someone local to this area wants to stop by and report back with any additional info, perhaps including GPS coordinates of the construction site if underway.

Alot of constuction going on there--it is location for new Waukegan casino. Right now temporary facility is being built, with permanent building behind the temporary one. SC appears to be going in area at the front street side of casino (temporary building ) parking lot-directly across from a Walmart. Entire area is fenced off and right now is part of unpaved parking lot. Therefore I wouldn't count on seeing it open any time soon. Location at: 42.3434248934053, -87.9000680777601

Did you confirm by plugging in or just see the “TESLA” lit up?

Are you saying a Tesla owner can use the site, but otherwise it is not open to the General Public for parking yet?

The quickest indicator of a site being LIVE is the “TESLA” logo on the pedestals being illuminated. If it’s lit up, it should charge. This site has been very slow to come online for reasons you’ve mentioned previously. Seems like in this instance Tesla got it’s part finished very quickly, while the rest of the area work is progressing slowly.

Is it or is it not functioning? Can any Tesla owner drive in and charge their car without being kicked out or otherwise interfering with construction activities?

I called the Casino last night. They told me maintenance said I can charge Tesla. I tried. It did not work. Also tried Tesla free charger in parking lot. Not working.
