Does anyone know why they can’t get a meter installed at this location ? It seems to be a problem in Fairfield also. The common denominator is Butler county so I’m not sure who is responsible for the hold up. I do know the West Chester location has been waiting for a meter for months. As of yesterday 2/20 still no meter or anyone working on it.

Saw this on a Facebook post:
West Chester Supercharger update 2/17/23 - Saw a crew of electricians working on the chargers and asked if they were going to be ready soon, they said probably still 2-4 weeks. They were fixing things the original contractor did not do properly to make “Duke energy happy.” Electrician said that Duke has still not ran power to the transformer yet. Looks like Duke is holding it up and not the county.

As far as I can tell, none or very few of the myriad of Superchargers installed in Ohio by Pontchartrain Partners, LLC have opened. I would imagine that there are going to be contract disputes, and it might drag on for months or longer trying to get them to correct their work across these various installs.

Tesla has this location listed on their site as a Supercharger. Does that mean that it is operational?
I still see it shown on the map as grayed out with label of "Target Opening in Q1 2023" That means it's in somewhere in the continuum of "wishful thinking, but we don't have an actual location picked out yet" to construction complete but just awaiting final inspections, approval, and final testing by Tesla to turn on the site.

So short answer, no, this does not mean it is operational.

Conveniently for Tesla they changed the target opening date from q4 2022 to q1 2023. Apparently they finally had workers there yesterday digging up areas several feet away from the existing transformer. So this might be a case of rework needed? Also for anyone that understands how they wire 12 stall chargers, is there a chance the county is having them get power from more than one transformer. It seems like they were sending wiring to additional transformers

I think this was a pre-fab install, I am curious about how this could be messed up so badly. Does Ohio have some type of different electrical code, or was there an install error?
Based on what little we know, I would guess that it's not an Ohio or a Butler County issue at this point. It just sounds like the contractors hired by Tesla had a substandard installation and that it appears that Duke Energy and not the county is the one putting the kibash on the whole thing. If that's the case then we now have 4 entities involved: Duke Energy, Tesla's contractor company, Tesla itself and the county. When there's that many parties involved in a dispute that may involve legal proceedings then that's not a recipe for things getting sorted out quickly. If anybody swings by this or the Fairfield site and the contrators are working, it would be interesting to ask them what caused them to get on Duke's bad side. Perhaps shoddy materials used or shoddy workmanship? Or both? Not sure if they would answer or not but it would be interesting to try.

Almost certainly not. A 12 stall site will ideally be paired with a single 1,000 kVA transformer, which is ~1 megawatt.

I stopped there today and snapped some quick photos. As you can see the backs were off of some of the charging stations.

I wonder if Tesla would consider retrofitting these with the new magic docks since they're not yet operational.
Doesn’t look like any progress has been made driving by today. This install has been a complete debacle as they have left the backs off of several chargers to allow the elements in. The pictures really say it all. Oh and the digging work near the transformers appears to be a fiber optic company performing work.
