Supercharger - West Hollywood, CA (LIVE 2 Sep 2022, 8 V3 stalls)

The building permit was approved in the first week of August, but it hasn't been issued yet.
Update: The building permit and the electrical permit for the superchargers were issued on 2022-01-19. I expect work to start in the near future now. So, if anyone is driving by this area, keep your eyes open for signs of construction work.

Wonder if they would purchase one of the private parking lots they were introduced to as stated in the opening post. Also to note, this is West Hollywood which is a separate city as opposed to Hollywood which is a neighborhood in the City of LA (according to my research and looking through the LA County and LA City permit databases). Separate permiting. If Elon meant Hollywood speficically, then all of the above is pointless speculation and wound need to be transferred to locations actually in Hollywood.

Yes, Los Angeles is made up of 86 different cities (85?). West Hollywood and Malibu are just the most recent entries to enter the incorporated market, and even these many years ago now. Hollywood is not a city. It is a district within the City of Los Angeles. Same with Sherman Oaks, Encino, etc. Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, Culver CIty, etc, are also independent, with their own governments.

I don't think Tesla buys anything for the most part. They tend to just lease for a small fee, or nothing, land, in exchange for upgrades and the promise of bringing in traffic.

But for a site with a restaurant and drive in movie theater, that’s not just putting in some charging stalls. They will need a partner like CPi Developers (they own the parcel Kettleman #1 is on) to purchase a lot, tear down whatever is on it and develop it. Not sure the average property owner in Hollywood is willing to take on that project. Developers that own parking lots are just collecting income waiting for someone to offer them enough for the land to sell it.

There is quite a bit going on at this parking lot but nothing (to me) that pin points to s Supercharger construction. There is paving, fenced off areas, etc
