Article cites Williamsport city officials saying that Tesla plans eight charging stalls at Sheetz on Maynard Street. Local Sheetz to get electric car station | News, Sports, Jobs - Williamsport Sun-Gazette @BlueShift
Some misinformation from the article: “Most of the electric cars also have a 12 gallon tank for gasoline in case the charge stops.”
Bottom line.....yes finally Tesla SC in my hometown! I’ve been checking that Sheetz location for a while and the parking lot there has the perfect setup for chargers. This location definitely fills the NB/SB Harrisburg-NY void. I’m in town now and will check for any action in the coming weeks.
The article states that Sheetz has SC at 21 stations. They must be happy with the extra business from Tesla drivers as well as the rent from Tesla. I just wish they would keep the ICE from blocking the stalls. Yesterday a large pickup with a trailer was blocking 6 of the 8 stalls at the Sheetz in Weston, West Virginia.

I stop there quite often to charge on my way back to PA coming from western NC, yeah there is a lot of ICE'ing in WV superchargers. Road trip! Look forward to driving up to Williamsport to snap some pictures of construction progress, hope to see you all on the road.
Traveling south I could stop at Williamsport then to Frederick, Md then onto Chester, Va and points south. Makes the trip a lot more convenient.
Am pretty excited. Have family in the area. This will make traveling here that much easier. Have to hand it to Sheetz for getting into the electric arena on many fronts. Wish Tesla had a ccs adapter as I see many sheets ccs chargers rated at 350 kw.
I just drove through there this weekend, the leg from Painted Post, NY to Carlisle PA was longest range between superchargers i've ever traveled. A Supercharger in between at williamport will fill the gap nicely, a provide reassurance for range anxiety. Also the Ithaca supercharger opened a day or 2 before I got up there, nice. 2015 Grey S90D
PENN TECH! One late evening, after imbibing we went to Wendy's and I ordered a Junior Bacon Frosty... and they made it for me lol.
I should be passing though the 10th. I'll try to get pics. This pretty much fixed my Model X range anxiety. (as I use this route a lot) (I bought the 255 mile). (coming from the 310 of the 3). That 'article had so many things wrong it should be deleted from the internet. Anyone want to politely correct the writer?
I went by site also, not even a paint mark on the ground. The place was packed, not sure where there going to install them at. Along the train tracks would work but tight. Out front along the road is ideal but every spot was used while I was there. Could be icing problem if put here. Look forward to the site. Could use it traveling 4-5 times a year. Long reach to painted post from Harrisburg as noted above.
You are correct, I went by the site on my way home and saw the fuel fillers. Wasn't as crowded, They will probably go right along the street side and deal with the ICEing like they do at Morgantown.
Here is a histogram of how long it has taken to go from construction to open in Pennsylvania. This is crowdsourced data so it is only as good as what has been observed on the ground.
average there doesn't look bad... guessing 35 days without doing any math. Also, this should hold a special place in my heart... it's where I met my wife. lol.
