Thanks guys. This is a trip I wouldn't have even considered making a year ago. I just really enjoy road tripping in this car! I am bringing my bike along but since it is just me I will be removing the front tire and putting it in the trunk to get better mileage.
Definitely a good idea if you can do it. Drag at 80+mph can be fairly severe.

It's a beautiful drive across the desert. Tesla road tripping is very relaxing with AP.

Looks like time for Tesla to expand the Winnemucca super charger. All four stalls are full, and I’m the fourth car waiting.
Lovelock was full earlier too, but it cleared out quick.

WOW! The times are a changing. Considering there's really only 4 paths east from CA, and 80 is one of the major ones I've always been shocked at how few Teslas I encounter between Wendover and Reno.

Looks like a bit of a stretch to Boise from Winnemucca. Has anyone done it?
It's been the topic of many threads on this forum. I can't seem to come up with the longer one, but here's a start:

Boise to California - Anyone make it to Winnemucca?

Someone recently reported that the L2 charger at the Say When Casino in McDermitt was powered off (casino is shut down due to Covid). This makes this trip much more difficult, but it still could be done on one charge with a fully-charged long range Tesla in warm summer weather imo. Just drive slowly to start out and adjust speed accordingly. Also note that it should be easier going to Boise than in the other direction due to the elevation change.

I do know someone who had done it going North (downhill) in a P85 several years ago and arrived with 9 miles! With a 100 battery, it should be more reasonable.

I had done this in my S85 back when I was able to use the J1772 at Say When, but now, there do not appear to be any Level 2 stations along this route at all. But there are two locations with CHAdeMO stations along this route now. So it's either very easy or very hard, depending on whether you have the CHAdeMO adapter or not.

And this is one of the types of scenarios of why I bought the CHAdeMO adapter. At the time I was ordering my car, I didn't buy the second AC charger in the car because they wanted $3,800 freaking ridiculous dollars for it! So I felt it was a decent tradeoff that I bought the CHAdeMO adapter instead for $450 once that came out.
