Supercharger - Yermo, CA (LIVE 21 Nov 2017, 18 V2 Stalls)

Went by Yermo on Thursday. I was happy to see a good number of cars and workers on the site. It looks like whatever the hold up was has now been resolved. But my prediction still holds that Baker will be operational before Yermo even though Baker began much later.
Good to hear. Can anyone tell if the supercharger is completed? Is the transformer on site? I am just wondering if everything is done and we are just waiting for Eddie's to be completed. It would be interesting to go at night to see if the pedestals are lit up. My guess is no, though it may just a flipping of the switch.

Yesterday afternoon. It’s still fenced off and guarded. The guard had no idea when it might open.

No. Because the opening in linked to Eddie’s World, and EW has not begun to staff workers yet, we are talking probably 1/1/18. Finish work left, then staff hiring, training and inventory purchasing ETC.. This is a complex operation. I suspect they will bring over experienced workers from their other site to begin and to do OJT with new-hire locals.

Probably the best gauge for the opening will be the Eddie’s World FB site. But it is outdated and not very accurate. The last update was Oct 15--a month ago. Here is what they have on their home page on FB--Note the inaccuracies:

"Construction is already well under way, and we anticipate opening in July/August of 2017. Last month Eddie World partnered with Tesla motors, who have already committed to installing 18 supercharger stations in our parking lot, making Eddie World their largest charging station between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.”

After charging at Baker, I drove by Eddie World to take several photos. The security guard walked to the fence and I asked about opening dates. He mentioned the importance of everything being perfect and having proper staffing. No exact date is known. Perhaps 20 days at the least. Hopefully before Christmas. Nothing definite. I mentioned being on the email list, so if they send a notice in advance, that would be great.

Now for some evening photos. Work continues at night while signage starts to appear inside. Some glass cabinets are visible. The building appears enormous in person. Notice the vented grates on top of the sewer treatment facility. No pavement is in that area, just landscaping. Enjoy the iPhone X photos with the optical zoom closeups from the fence.

Just got a FB reply from Eddie’s World. The Superchargers are supposed to be open and operational for the public next week (Thanksgiving week 2017)--even before EW opens. My guess is that they will begin spiffing up the grounds and removing the fence. Actually grounds look good now but EW wants to make a good impression. Lots of hoopla about the Kettleman SC but my bet is that EW will be THE destination spot for both ICE and Tesla traffic.

Whawhawha what's with the "temporary open November 21 - January 14" bit? Maybe main EddieWorld opens then, but superchargers open for use prior to Grand Opening?

PS -- Obviously awesome that it's open at all though of course!!!
