I heard early last year that a supercharger was planned for the Meijer in Whitestown off of I-65. I never got more detailed information other than a mention from one of the Tesla employees at the Keystone store.

Location : 6650 Whitestown Pkwy, Zionsville, IN 46077

It looks as though they are now constructing something with large, electric boxes in the south-west section of the parking lot. Although I can't confirm it's a super charging site yet, it sure looks like one.

Does anyone have additional info on this?

Yes, that's most definitely the hardware for a supercharger. Good find! If you wanted to totally confirm it--and simultaneously give us the scoop on whether it's going to be traditional or urban style chargers--you could get a close-up picture of the shipping tag in the upper corner on supercharger cabinet cover (see attached highlight). Did you happen to count how many of those cabinets there were? I can't quite tell whether there are 4 or 5. Once we know that, we'll know whether it'll have 8 or 10 stalls.

From the picture it looks like the exact location in the parking lot is around here. Is that about right?

Yes, your location coordinates are correct. Side note: wow the Google satellite view is very dated, it still looks like a grass field. On Apple Maps it shows the parking lot correctly.

I will try to count the cabinets and get a close up picture of the shipping tag later this afternoon.

This will be a great stop for Chicago runs. I feel stupid topping off in Lafayette and then Merrillville again not too soon after.

The white box shipping label does say Tesla, supercharger confirmed!

There were five white cabinets, so I guess 10 stalls are planned.

Yep. 10 traditional-style, V2, 120 kW stalls (or maybe these'll immediately start at 145 kW?). Nice. Thanks for the pics.

You've probably got the "globe" setting turned on in your Google maps settings. While it does enable Google's 3D mode, it often results in using older satellite pictures, too (as well as running slower ;)). I have it turned off unless I'm specifically trying to use the 3D views for something, so here's what I see when I click the map link I posted earlier:

This is great! I was disappointed in the new downtown Supercharger (urban type and paid parking). Not sure I would use it except to visit my brother in Lafayette. Those in the area, keep us updated!

Just make a trip out to Iowa and back. This charger would have been a great place to top off after Champaign IL. Made it home with 28 miles to spare on my X 90D.

Did you stop at the Covington Beef House (I-74 in Indiana east of Illinois border)? They have a destination charger and BIG food too!

I’ve eaten there many times, but this trip we had already gotten food during our 1 hour charge in Champaign. Champaign was pretty busy. 6/8 taken around lunch time.

I had an appointment in Zionsville this morning, so I stopped by. They were hard at work getting this setup!

this is nice but we now have 3 chargers all 10 miles apart, we just have to get one in Bloomington, and Evansville makes my trips down there real hard

Agree. But this is the crossroads of America. All the interstates come together here. I'd bet we see one near 74 or 70 on the East and West sides at some point as well.

Why doesn't this one show up on the SuperCharger map at tesla.com? They have plenty of SuperChargers marked as "coming soon" or "'under construction" ...but not this one. How many others will start popping up unexpectedly?

We have seen that a number of times. Another example is Carmel, IN supercharger. It was never in the plan that I know of.

Well, I'm definitely glad to see this one. The Lafayette location is super convenient for me coming from/going to work, but this one will be much better for me than the Carmel one for visiting family south of Indy or going to Brown County or further south. Still hoping for one between Indy and South Bend along 31 eventually (maybe near Peru, right where 31 and 24 cross, that'd be about halfway between Carmel and South Bend).
