Superchargers in Turkey

Couldn't find any existing thread, so not sure if there are many Turkish members of TMC, but some people on the supercharge.info forum have suggested Turkey's first Supercharger is under construction:

There's no evidence of Tesla components yet, but any eyes on the area are welcome:

This is the location: 40.724112, 31.463865

There are at the moment 4 locations installed all 8 V3 chargers they are waiting for approve from the government to start them up
Locations are:

Edrine boarder greece/bulgaria
Istanbul Emaar square mall (asian side)
Bolu highway (rest area on the motorway istanbul-ankara you can enter from both sides)
Ankara Ankamall (centre of Ankara)

A little update there is now a date for the opening of the first two Edrine and Bolu (karadeniz Bölgesi) Q1 2023 so lets fingers cross that it really opens this time
I drove to Turkey with my Model S P90D multiple times. The Supercharger in Sofia was much needed. Now that it is open, its much easier to arrive to Edirne / Turkey. However, there, you are limited to a 50kwh dc charger in a shopping mall.
So after that Edirne superchargers start working, it will be a piece of cake to drive to Turkey 🥳

I looked in the Nis, Serbia Supercharger site today. There are currently 4 stalls. The hotel was taken over by a different family a couple of years ago, and I spoke with them. For many years the hotel has specialised in catering to Turks doing the run between Germany & Netherlands to Turkey. Apparently they are trying to attract a wider clientee now. At Eur 50/night for perfect spotless rooms I', sure they'll get custom.

Any way, the point is that this site is due to get another 6 stalls in 3-4 months, at least that is what Tesla has told the owners. I'd have thought either 4 or 8 more was more likely. It is hard to avoid this site if one is doing the run across Serbia.

(Tesla Supercharger - Bosphorus Hotel : charging station in Aleksinac, Serbia )

(EDIT : This is the one at the Hotel Bosphorus. It is located at cut-outs in the fence. This means one can use it whilst still on the toll highway if driving south. If driving north one must exit the toll highway a few miles earlier, then drive to the non-motorway section of the hotel Bosphorus car park and use it. Then later rejoin the toll highway)

[**** I'm about to report my own post as there needs to be some sort of eastern Europe section on TMC, there currently isn't one ****]

Mod coment: message received - I'll ask the more senior people about a Eastern Europe section, but you should be able to create a thread under "Europe" and not one of the regions in the mean time. There is already one for Turkey.

Teslarati has a story out today indicating that Turkey has now issued Tesla and others licenses to operate in Turkey.

Yea I saw that. I would like to see how the local network deals with that kind of demand 🤭
I travelled all around west coast and south coast until Antalya. Then drove up to Ankara and back to Istanbul.
Some cities were fine but the more east I drove, weirder the experiences got.

- Stations having no power
- Stations that can only be activated with QR code but the QR code is burned off due to excessive sun exposure..
- Stations keeps cutting off your charging every 3-5 minutes
- ICE cars parked on charging stations in shopping malls.
etc.

Oh and the best one was when I stopped to charge in a petrol station on the way to Cappadocia where there was just one 22kw charger.
So I had to charge for 1.5 hrs and arrive to Cappadocia at 4 in the morning and shortly after fly in a balloon...
5 minutes after I plugged in, the whole neighboorhood (multiple streets, shops, houses, petrol station itself, street lights etc.) went pitch dark, lol.

It was possible to travel but rural areas with only 22kw charging infrastructure were a struggle to be completely honest.
