I continue to be out of step with the rest of you:

87. Squamish, BC
88. Whistler, BC

Whistler was difficult since most of the spots were blocked. A valet saw me and moved a car (Tesla) for me. I also couldn't figure out how to pay to get out of the parking garage (how do credit cards work with those devices?). An employee was in the next car and let me through with her pass card.

I was astonished by the number of Teslas headed up toward Whistler as I was headed back down. More than I've ever seen before, other than at a service center. Some sort of local club event?

I'm off to Gillette to get one more before going to there myself.

I didn't officially update the thread yesterday, but I did add both Wheatland and Gillette. I'm convinced (in hindsight) that I could have made it from Wheatland to Sheridan in one charge...but I thought the that might be a really "close shave" as the range I would have left would be "razor thin". Besides I wanted to get to Custer before "5 o'clock (shadow)" so I just went directly to Gillette.

Ha. Thanks. The weather here is horrible, compared to everything else I've had this trip, (though it looks like the snow will wait till Monday) but we're having a great time.

I made it from Lusk to Sheridan on a single charge in an 85. Those were the days.

I would attempt that no problem in most conditions in my S100D. Would probably start out at 70mph and slow down if necessary. But in a 90D it's a different story. I don't think I would even attempt in yesterday's conditions. Would probably need dry roads and temps above 50F. The main problem is your Plan B in a spot like that is a flat-bed tow truck.

Something was working in my favor yesterday (maybe the wind) because I left for Gillette and was projected to get there with about 22% battery left and ended up getting there with over 30% remaining...and I was not exactly going slow. I have gone over 250 miles in my S90D in similar conditions before...across the UP in Michigan. Not much elevation change there though. Anyway, I opted not to take that route just to get one more charger. I'll get those one day when I'm heading out to Washington state or some such.

The elevation change was in your favor but the speeds were not! I'm guessing you were going maybe 60mph in the UP. Going 60mph on the interstate in Wyoming is a little awkward :)

I’ve done middle of the night 50 MPH WY runs back in the day in the P85+. Made Lusk from Sheridan once. Also SHR to Rapid City. Usually required an interim Level 2 though.

Nope...that's just it. I wasn't going slow. I was passing everyone. . couldn't wait to get to the next passing zone....and sometimes I didn't.

My car just seems to be more efficient than even my car thinks it is... :)
