OK, so I visited the newly opened V3 Tesla Factory Charger.

Leaving Laytonville for the next trip to WA, but the coast is clear to Canada still.

I tried for Ensenada but my insurance didn't cover me and the wife balked.

It would have taken care of the entire western half of the country in one trip...

Today’s haul is small:
Milford, CT - North
Milford, CT - South

Hit our only repeat of the entire trip today too (East Greenwich, RI). Taking it easy with a lovely lunch in Mystic, CT and dinner in Newport, RI. Oh and we had to make a huge sacrifice and drive around aimlessly looking at mansions on Ocean Ave so the tiny human could get a nap in. The things we do...

As a person who almost exclusively drives in city traffic and weekdays I’m glad I was behind the wheel for almost all of today.

Fond memories of Mystic Pizza on a family road trip when I was growing up.

Down the Garden State all the way from New York, and then home via the GSP, NJTP, and then GWB.

Sometimes living in the West with its paucity of toll roads is a good thing! (However, a few have crept into play over the past twenty years, but the rates are much cheaper than those listed. And we now have "toll lanes" on selected freeways with variable pricing depending upon time of day. But an 18-mile drive down the Harbor Freeway from downtown LA at rush hour is still just a couple of bucks.)

Dawn over Lake Michigan this morning at Illinois Beach State Park:

Camping across the lake at Van Buren State Park in Michigan tonight. This place is jumping -- lots of campers on this mid October Saturday night! Mild weather in the 60s and 50s with no wind likely helps. However, I could do with a bit of a breeze to disperse the smoke from all the campfires; it is getting to be obnoxious.
Be sure to check out the new national park in Indiana!

I know this is a limited hour garage but really, 10am on Sunday? I thought I would catch it early this morning before heading to the Seahawk game, but NOO, had to wait for the gate to open.

It wasn’t open then? What are the Sunday hours? (Probably better to post all this in the thread for this supercharger)

This is a bit OT for this thread, but since all the people I respect post here, I figured I'd post it here. It ends with both a comment and a question.

Yesterday we did a day trip up to the Catskill area to do the Hudson Valley Pottery Tour.
Hudson Valley Pottery Tour
To minimize charging time on the trip, I set the charging at home yesterday morning to 100% and topped up before we left. We stopped at the Kingston Supercharger for about 15 minutes to top up what I hoped was enough for the rest of the trip and to make it back home. When we plugged in I got the message about this being a busy Supercharger and the max charge was being set back to 80%, which was fine (the first time I've experienced this message). I looked at the charging screen and saw that the max charge had indeed been set to 80%

We continued on the tour, stopping for lunch at Bread Alone in Boiceville. [On a side note, I noticed when we came back out from lunch that there were a couple of EV Connect chargers in the parking lot which I could have charged at while we were eating lunch, which as you'll see, would have been worthwhile.] Once we'd toured the last pottery, I set home as the destination, but found I didn't have enough charge to make it home, so we had to stop in Newburgh for 15 minutes to top up (where I again got the message about this being a busy Supercharger, and charging limited to 80%), and then headed home.

I plugged in when I got home. When I checked the charge status this morning, I found that I had charged to 100%. I had just assumed that when the max was set to 80% at the Supercharger that that 80% setting would stay there. Apparently not. I'm certain that I didn't manually set the charging back to 100%. So is that correct - that the 80% setting is only temporary while you are at the Supercharger and then it reverts back to whereever you had it set? If so, I wanted to be sure that others are aware of this.

I guess I'll have to head down to Toms River this morning to burn off that extra charge!

Correct. The 80% limit is only temporary and should return to your previously set limit the next time you charge... the operative word being should... it's worth double-checking to make sure. At high usage stations where your limit is automatically set to 80%, you can always override it if you need more energy to make it to your destination.

Re: Seattle Union St, I was unable to avoid a $6 charge despite a 10 minute charge. I self parked at night, but it sure looks like they want you to valet only.

@JSergeant The 80% limit temporarily reprograms your upper limit, but is easily overridden. If circumstances were reasonable to do so, I would have upped the charge limit to what you needed, which would have eliminated both of your issues—insufficient charge and unintended overcharging.
