I truly believe it is important for our little community to honor the wishes of the host site. I can't undo going but I can undo claiming the first from the visit. I am going to delete the visit from the spreadsheet.
When the site is open, add a visit for that day—that way you get credit for "first" (which you are), but you are also letting anyone who visits on the official opening day get credit as well.

I once got what I believe to be a "global first" (i.e. first non-Tesla employee to charge, not just the first charge in this game) at Traverse City, MI by arriving in the wee hours and pulling up along the back side of a curb in what would have been a high traffic area during the daytime. The intended supercharger parking spots had recently been paved and were roped off. I thought this was a fun little first and an interesting story to go along with it. Never once did I think I was breaking some unwritten rule.
I've done the same for a lot that was blocked off by excessive valet parking. It wasn't a "first", but I did claim credit for that supercharger.

Hoping the rain lets up

Note:
Looking ahead in my car's screen, and Hardeeville, SC was indicated as possibly not being active. Will stop by and see tomorrow.

I'm back on the road for the first time in over 3 months, taking a short trip with my wife through the Upper Michigan peninsula and around to Wisconsin. The first new Supercharger on this trip was:

795. Grove City, PA

Spreadsheet updated.
Here's the map for today. [Yesterday we just drove from home to Falls Creek, PA in the afternoon.]

We had dinner today at Zingerman's Roadhouse in Ann Arbor, which has socially distanced inside dining. In our case, I think we got the old folks safe room, as we were the only people in a room which had about 18 booths and tables.

Just give me a 12 hour heads up if you're heading to North Dakota:)

Unfortunately not on this trip. We want to be back home before the July 4 weekend. This is a very leisurely trip. The longest day is only 444 miles and most of them are under 400.

I'm planning a trip for the end of August/early September which will be across the Trans Canada if the border opens again, returning through North Dakota, or if the border hasn't opened, we'll go West through North Dakota.

I'd recommend eating outside at least if it isn't raining. Take advantage of the summer while you can.

Also you can get county by county data fairly easily with the Johns Hopkins map. You'll need to look up county populations though to get per capita numbers. I stayed in hotels every night of my trip in May but I was (mostly) careful to avoid hotspots. Stayed one night in Richmond, VA area that made me uncomfortable. There just weren't any good options in the area and I was starting to get tight on time. TX made me uncomfortable too, but I lucked out with Kingsville being a good stopping point. It was seemingly the only part of the state that didn't have many cases. FL also made me uncomfortable but I sort of held my breath driving through South Florida and found a place on the outskirts of Orlando that was a ghost town due to all the parks being closed.

BTW, it turns out my discomfort in the south was warranted. The case numbers weren't that bad there at the time. It was mostly the behavior of the people that was making me uncomfortable.

I feel kinda bad about this. Now that we know for sure that the gate being left open was a mistake (the superchargers are covered now), I ask for your opinion on whether I should keep the charging session listed in the spreadsheet or remove it.
@theflyer - I think you should put yourself back in spreadsheet for Vienna (as first). My earlier posts were meant to warn others about the site not being accessible due to active construction - not to negate your first.

Riverdale Park MD yesterday.

Ready to go from VA to Cape Cod tomorrow. Interesting that NY/NY/CT have imposed a 14 day quarantine for those coming from selected states with flare-ups (Carolinas, TX, GA, FL, AZ, etc) No idea how they will enforce -- but I understand the motivation for the restriction. I am hoping that VA plates escape scrutiny - and I will do frequent temperature checks to make sure I'm clean

thanks again admins

Pretty much all the quarantines have been completely unenforceable. And most of them have been political grandstanding. Republican governors imposing quarantines on blue states and now the opposite is happening. It's silly. Travel bans can make some sense if you're an island nation or something, but with millions of confirmed cases in the US, and tens of millions more unconfirmed, these travel bans aren't going to do a damn thing. That ship sailed long ago.

The signage is terrible in Reston. One of the hardest locations to find on your first visit. I'd place it top 10 hardest until signage is improved.
hmm.. the trick is the find the "Kiss and Ride" entrance for Wiehle metro. Once there, it's just a quick right before the gate. IMO, heck of a lot easier than N Bethesda and many others I've been to -- but I defer to all of your experience.
