How'd you like the drive to Jackman? Any leaves changing yet?
The sun was setting as I left Skowhegan so I didn't have GREAT light to check on the leaves. Also, I'm colorblind lol. I didn't notice them changing, but that doesn't mean much in this case. The supercharger at Jackman was... ??? I'll post a pic over in that thread.

I saw a moose (adult female) near Long Pond right after I left Jackman. She was in the other lane and as I slowed down and rolled down the window to take a look, she seemed to get aggressive toward the car. That's the first time I've been a little scared of an animal while inside a 4500 lb hunk of metal. Those things are huge!! So I actually sped up a little and it started running along side of me in the other lane. Then I pulled a U-turn to take another look and it did the same thing again in the other direction. Very strange behavior. Unfortunately, I don't have my dash cam set up properly (need a new USB drive), otherwise that might have been some cool footage even though it was dark. Anyways, that was my first time seeing a moose in New England or Eastern Canada so I was excited about that. I previously had seen a ton of them on the Alaska Highway and I had a near miss with one at 90mph on Autopilot on I-90 in Montana between Butte and Missoula.

I also had a funny experience yesterday at the Ashland, NH supercharger. When I arrived, there were 3 Telsas plugged in and an F-250 parked in one stall slightly over the line of another stall. This supercharger is in a Dunkin Donuts parking lot and the spots do allow for 15 minute general parking. But the guy was effectively blocking two spots and he laid the charge cable in the flatbed of his truck so clearly he was trolling. Also the rest of the lot was mostly empty.

Anyways, I could have just parked at one of the stalls on the end, but I decided to have some fun instead. There was just enough room for me to squeeze in to the spot where he was parked over the line, between the truck and another charging Tesla, so I went ahead and did that which would have made it very hard for him to get into his truck. I was only getting a brief charge while going inside to get some of that awful coffee, so I wasn't going to be there long anyway. When he saw me park, he came running out and said "okay okay, I'll move my truck" lol. I did maneuver slightly so he could get into his truck more easily. It was a young kid, maybe 20yo, just being a dumbass, but I was still happy to out-troll the troll :)

Also from yesterday: New Hampshire's high point!

Surely I can convince at least one of you guys to start high pointing with me!

@701SpeedDemon, thanks for the update and I've entered everything into the spreadsheet.

You enter the game just inside the Top 100 at #98 and a respectable 36 visits including FIVE First Visits (2 of which you share with @Bighorn at Miles City, MT and Glendive, MT). Enjoy your future trips and one day that northern border will be open for you.
I like to round down. From my house Paso Robles is 3+ hours and Cerritos is 5+ hours, they are not in line, I hadn't gotten directions from one to the other before I posted so yes, a little farther, but I was more than half way there.

But looking at the LA basin alone there are 5 more sites ready to pop. Won't be long until I hafta head that way again. Time to concentrate on runs I won't have to do again soon, like Idaho now that Baker, Or is open
Got it, yes there are a few close to opening we hope including Hawthorne. I am still waiting for my X, so no new SCers for me. Cerritos is the first new LA one in a long time. Bay Area gets more love

I happened to check supercharge.info and saw that Conifer CO was open. So my wife and I took an afternoon trip to get a first day charge at Conifer. I have updated the spreadsheet. We will be doing a road trip to California and Arizona over the next couple of weeks so plan to add a few more.

Just not fair! :(

I can’t believe I planned my trip to show up after official opening, from CA, to be denied a few days after opening because of rain. Skies were a beautiful blue, and the winds were down. And a long van came down the access road and out the gate!

So, we were going to go on a drive over Guanella pass today. And then, I looked at the map and the Conifer supercharger was open! So I told the GF, "sorry we're going to have to go pick up a supercharger today". GF:" where is it?". Me: "Conifer!" GF:" but that's right on our path!" Me:" I know, right?" GF loves coincidences.

Add Conifer CO to my list, possible first charge.

Seems odd to have a "high point" that is substantially lower than my house! Mighty impressive wind speed though; I wonder, how does a wind gauge hold up to that speed?

The high point in Alaska figures to be a considerable challenge...

You could also do low points, Death Valley in California, say. The low point my my state is 3317 feet (1011 meters); I'll leave you to find it.

I was actually considering going for the low points! lol At least, I'm fairly confident I am capable of reaching all 50. I was about to research if anyone else has been doing the low points, but I'm sure there's someone. And yeah I figured CO had the highest low point, although WY would probably be in the running as well.

Two for me today...
Bethel, ME
Rutland, VT (first)

The Bethel stop was the destination of a group Tesla ride I participated in today up through some beautiful roads on Maine. Relatively small group - two X’s, one 3, and two Y’s! We arrived at Bethe and another Y was already there charging (full house). I must have seen six other Y’s in my travels today - they’re everywhere.
