James Locke says his 2017 Model S' charging rate has been restored. He was previously capped at 104 kW but saw 155 kW at 27% SOC after installing 2020.48.26. can anyone here with an older car confirm?

Wow! That would be amazing. I'm almost tempted to drive to Oregon tonight just to find out! Unfortunately I'm currently parked at home at ~85% SOC so it would take a lot of driving :)

Just curious... what does a 2017 S100D with little history of supercharging normally top out at on a v3? For some reason I was thinking it was 150kW, but maybe it's like 180? My 2018 S100D was nerfed before the v3s and 150kW v2s ever existed so I never saw more than 120, which was quickly limited to 108kW after just a few months of ownership.

I saw James’ post, but to charge locally would be to do it cold and therefore not reveal much.
How cold is too cold? If I charged "locally," it would likely be ~40F and wet (anecdotal, but heavy rain seems to affect the temp of the battery, at least based on my charge speeds, and it kind of makes sense if you think about it). I'm wondering if driving 100-200 miles would be able to warm the battery enough or if there's some low temperature where no amount of driving is enough.

Anyone who is or was running TeslaFi on their older cars should be able to get that data quickly. I'm thinking @JSergeant or IT Geek (can't get the @ to work) should have that data handy.

I think 50-100 miles would warm the battery sufficiently, especially if preconditioning kicks in prior to a SC destination. Sometimes I’ll use a technique I saw a ranger use on a ride along. Surge and regen so you’re maximizing power application and regen. You can’t do it with other traffic around because your speed is yoyoing. Doesn’t really work at temps without regen, obviously, but it can hasten heat generation once you develop some green.

James qualified in a foll0w-up comment that his understanding is that it restores charging for 2016 and newer vehicles only.
Bummer. My 2013 S85 caps out in the 90s these days, though on a V3 it sometimes ramps up to 130 before quickly dropping down.

A bit of a pause in the competition last year....

This is total new supercharger visits, and new supercharger visits per year.

Just FYI to the admins, Page 1 of this thread takes a huge amount of time to load the GDoc at the top of the page.
I tried the three major browsers and Google Doc status says it is all hunky-dory, which I rarely believe, but perhaps there is excess CSS or JS involved.

@Bighorn V2020 is listed at 4,209 in the above post. A drop off from 6,879 in V2019.

It could be the phone. I’m on an ipad.
