More Info: Supercharging.Life database

This is a friendly contest for Tesla owners to track the number of unique public Superchargers where they have charged

- "Supercharger count" is the number of unique public Superchargers where you have charged (just being there does not count), whether or not you were the person plugging in the vehicle (such as a Valet Parking garage or a Passenger) and whether or not it was your own personal vehicle (such as a rental, a loaner, or a friend's Tesla) as long as you were the one who drove >50% of the distance to reach the charger(s).
- The list of chargers in the supercharging.life database are the ones included in the game. If you think one should be added or removed from the list, let us know.
- Only chargers available to the public without special permission are included in the game.
- Chargers not connected to the grid are not counted.
- Doublet locations like the North/South Supercharger 'pairs' in CT, ME, NH, etc. count as individual locations.
- More than 1 charger at the same address, such as Lenox Square Mall (Atlanta, GA) or Montgomery Mall (Bethesda, MD) count as individual locations when they appear as a separate location on the Tesla Nav screen.
- Inactive competitors will be archived and removed from the leaderboard. Just post an update to be reactivated.

See Supercharging.Life database for info on how to post your own visits to the database (preferred), or post your locations with date visited to this thread and one of the admins will update your list for you. All visits must be posted to this thread - not just entered in supercharging.life. If you are the first in the game to visit a supercharger location, please post to the thread as soon as you can so others know it has been visited.

It's been a fun week exploring Lead, SC, and environs, before going the Sound of Silence rally in Custer this coming weekend. If only I hadn't had to work during the day, I could have hiked even more.

Hiked up to White Rocks above Deadwood Monday evening. Up to the overlook in Spearfish Canyon and then to Roughlock Falls Tuesday. It was rainy Wednesday, so I just drove down Spearfish Canyon to bag the supercharge in town on Wednesday. Really smokey from some Canadian wildfire today, so I think I will take a break from hiking to support the local brewing industry.

I didn’t mention it in my previous post, but I did open the flap inside the trunk and feel around for a release. I found nothing. There was a Tesla technician working on the superchargers at Tupelo today and he showed me the loop to pull to release the latch on his Model Y. I just now looked at my car again and still found nothing. Is the manual release different on a March 2014 Model S?
No accessible manual release in my May 2014 S. I had a dead-car-in-garage and the cable couldn't be released. I contacted my usual mobile service guy and he suggested putting the MC through a rear window for transport, which is what I did. I think that there may have been a way to release the cable but it was something he would have to do in person, as opposed to walk me through it on the phone.

Car was transported 300 miles over the mountains to the Littleton service center (my State Farm tow insurance arranged and covered the $1000+ transport because it was the nearest place the car could be serviced). Took Service nine hours to diagnose the problem as a corroded wire to the charge port that caused the car to be unable to wake up. Since they had never seen the problem before, they comped me all but one hour of service time. Also replaced the charge port free of charge because they damaged it while working on it.

I’m getting caught up on posting my entries. I visited a few more on the way to Custer. Also noteworthy: I passed 5,000 miles on this trip.

Just shy of moving up a few spots before Custer. That’s all for now!

How about this storm just north of Amarillo? I managed to thread the needle and not get beat up too badly.

California State Route 108 (The Randys highway/Sonora Pass) has been opened to Kennedy Meadows east of Strawberry. Caltrans crews are attacking it from both sides, but are making slow headway due to the quantity of snow and ice that has been buried beneath the snow. The snow is so high, and the width is so narrow in many places that a sno-cat fitted with a plow climbs on top of the snow to push it down to the blower that shoots it off the highway. My guess is that this road won't open until a week or so after Ebbets Pass, perhaps as late as July 1.
My Birthday!
