So, took a road trip from NJ to western NC this weekend. Took my FLIR cam with me.

Stopped at my normal two superchargers (Glen Allen, VA to ~250 rated miles, then Burlington, NC to ~175 rated miles).

Ate at Chilis in Glen Allen, so, no pics there. But, everything was closed at Burlington when I got there (~2AM), so, played around with the cam a bit. Only about 130 miles to my destination from there, which has a HPWC... so 175 rated is plenty to fly down the interstate. :D

Heres some pics and a link to the FLIR report (with the real-color pics, also... but they're pretty dark).

I figure someone might get a kick out of these. :) (Time in report is +4 hours from Eastern Time)

You have a FLIR!! That's cool alone.

Second, it's interesting to see the twisting of the wires within the cable.

Finally, the most interesting bit to me is how much the front end lights up. I'd expect the battery pack, but I assume that front end is where the coolant and pump are working their butt's off to keep the pack as cool as possible during charging.

I wasn't surprised by this one. I remember once time when I supercharged, I noticed how much heat was coming out from the radiator fan and blowing directly onto the front tire. I actually wonder if that heat can damage the tires in any way, but I'm guessing tires are designed to get really hot.

The tires themselves were about ~105F when I pulled into the parking lot. I'll have to pull over one day after doing ~75MPH for a while and see what they look like. (Was only about 72F ambient)
