Supercharging rate/taper curve?

My apologies if this has already been answered somewhere, but I didn’t see it. Has anyone validated and published what the supercharging rate/power/taper curve looks like for the Model 3?

Like the Model S, there won’t be “one” curve.

But, the 310 EPA mile Long Range / 75kWh car is one configuration. I could test it if I ever get the car below 200 miles of range

Why not? I’m confused… The model S pretty much has one curve, the slope changes as the charge level changes, but it’s still a single curve....

No it’s different for every battery size.

And sometimes different for every iteration of the battery too.

The curve will be different for:

Battery size
Battery chemistry
Degradation (internal impedance)
Cell temperature

thanks so much. Being in Ca. it is $.20 per kWh. Pretty reasonable.but much cheaper to charge at home since I have solar. I still need to evaluate if I have enough solar. the problem with Ca, if I upgrade my solar, PGE will seriously increase my overall electrical charges. Will be evaluating this ASAP.


I read an article a couple of weeks ago that the charge timer in the Model 3 is not fully functional yet

Yea, thanks to all the delivery charges and fees and taxes, supercharging in WA is cheaper than residential rates if you have Seattle City Light.

For those of us not well versed in Solar, why will PGE increase rates? Is there a certain amount of generation where that kicks in? Thanks!

I think PGE EV rates are the cheapest. We have solar, but switched to EV - big difference.

And don’ forget, PGE will send you a $500 check for owning an EV (for each EV if credit has not already been claimed as in a previous owner).

I have had solar for some time and am on their original plan. But adding more than 1% will change my rates to the current rates which is much more expensive, especially during the peak hours. Have not investigated the EV rating as of yet.
