Hello everyone. We are looking for respondents to take part in our survey. We are part of the European project VI-DAS (Vision Inspired Driver Assistance Systems), which aims to advance the design of the next generation of automated vehicles. Fully automated vehicles are still in the future (2020-2030), and many obstacles remain to overcome. Until then, the need for human interaction will persist, that's why the driver will remain a key element in the processing of developing future automated vehicles.

In the project VI-DAS both the interior of the car (driver's state, behavior, attention level...) and the exterior (traffic, obstacles, driving conditions...) will be monitored. Understanding and correlating outside and inside worlds will allow obtaining a more comprehensive analysis of the situational context.

VI-DAS targets SAE International's level 3 of automation: conditional automation, with the system being in charge of monitoring the driving environment, with automation allowed in some situations, and the driver being able to appropriately intervene at any moment.

You can learn more about the project here: VI-DAS - Innovation and Networks Executive Agency - European Commission

Whether you are a novice driver or an experimented one, whether you have ever driven automated vehicles or not, we are looking forward to your replies. This questionnaire begins with general questions about automated vehicles, then about your acceptance of automated driving and finally about the in-car interfaces we could find in future vehicles. It should take less than 15 minutes to answer.
