It's a non issue on the rub. Don't let it dissuade you from going this setup. You will never notice it and it doesn't damage anything.Yes, sorry the fender wall. Didn't know the right name for it.
Too bad about the tiny rub.

sweet MYP, congrats... looks awesome.
Reddit has some angry people on it!
That size should work just fine according to TireSize.Anyone has installed a 285 on a 20" wheel on a stock MYP square set up? Given that 285 40 20 will be 29" in overall diameter, waiting to hear back from folks who may have considered it on stock Model Y performance square set up
285's or 295's for MYP at front and back/square set up
Anyone has 285's or 295's on 19 or 20" wheels for MYP at front and back/square set up? We all know that, stock set up on MYP with 255 35 21 Front, 275 35 21 rear, overall diameter will be 712mm at front and 726mm for rear tires. Reading through multiple threads, following are my observations...teslamotorsclub.com
Nice! @Canyonero How is your clearance in the rear? Done any testing under load?265/40 front and 295/40 rear. Bridgestone Alenza AS Ultra's just installed. No rubbing at all in the front at full turn, probly half a cm of clearanceView attachment 747120View attachment 747122View attachment 747123View attachment 747124

Looks nice 265 40 21 should have 29.3" inch diameter compared to 29 inch for a 285 40 20. It looks like 285 40 20 should be a good fit for stock MYP square set up265/40 front and 295/40 rear. I haven't loaded up the vehicle, just me and two pups in the back. Don't really know what to measure in the rear for clearance but no issues at all there.Nice! @Canyonero How is your clearance in the rear? Done any testing under load?
Haven't driven a ton on them yet and haven't gone over any speed bumps, but driving around town hitting minor bumps here and there and going up and down colorado driveway curbs I haven't had any issues whatsoever.I'm curious too whether that's going to rub when entering a driveway or hitting dips or bumps in a turn.
Keep this in your car and you shouldnt have an issue.I’m curious does having a different tire size than oe affect roadside assistance if god forbid you get a flat?
Thank you. I was looking at Tesla’s safety kit but this looks way more clutch.
Redditors are the most positive bunch!Hahah, people on Reddit are 100% positive I’m gonna rub with my set up.
Too bad they’re wrong. Haven’t had a single rub.
