Suzy has a caller in her "Can I afford it?" segment. Lynn asks if she can get the $69,000 Tesla. Suzy says these cars are great! Great! http://video.cnbc.com/gallery/?video=3000084064&play=1 Was interesting to have a "Tesla" no longer be a Roadster. The car was just a Tesla.
Go Suzy! She usually makes sense - didn't agree with her on one occasion though when she recommended not maxing out on 401(k) in favor of shorter term investments.
I played that video and it only showed the previous segment about the solar panels. Searched for 15 minutes and still couldn't find the Tesla clip.
That has to be one of the most poorly organized sites I've ever tried to search through. I found a tweet from Suze Orman where she mentions that she'll talk about Tesla on April 14. I tried searching the transcript of the April 14 show, but the transcript does not match the show at all.
I saw her on cable TV and had done a quick search for that link and thought it would show the segment. Maybe better googlers can find it.
So, did anybody find it? EDIT: Okay I found it: http://castroller.com/podcasts/CnbcsTheSuze/2861757 After 25 minutes into the video
Suze Orman is one of the notable U of Illinois alumni, as well as Tesla Motors co-founder Martin Eberhard
I also thought it was a bit funny that Lynn was "DENIED". Teslas have a reputation for being too expensive for most people and this seemed to confirm that.
I stopped listening to her when she told a caller she should sell a stock because she was nervous. Most successful investors know to leave emotions out of it.
