Long story short, my wife does not like the auto open function and my regular struts got thrown out. So, I'll swap you the auto-open kit for your regular struts. Even-Steven. I'm in northern Georgia if you want to come by to swap.

Why not just remove the springs? Then it won't auto open. Just unscrew the top end, remove the spring and washer, and reinstall the top and replace on the car.

Absolutely.. I just celebrated my 45th anniversary this past week, so I do know that phrase all too well When fully open, mine can barely reach the lid to pull it down to close it. Considering the electric version.

i have the EVannex struts as well and i feel the same way. wanting to swap them back to the original struts, but the tension clip popped off the passenger strut and no idea where it went.

I've got Taptes struts on my rear trunk, and agree. They're too strong. My trunk opens like a trebuchet and the last six inches to close takes a lot more effort. Has anyone taken just one spring off to see if that helps? Or maybe used one factory strut and one spring assisted one?
