Swapping between Aero Cover and Lug nut set?

Hi all,

Just got my aero delete kit from Tesla and installed it. Looks great but I still want to put the aero covers on for long drives I think.

The problem is that the center cap install prevents the cover from fully seating. It doesn't appear easy to pull the center cap without taking the wheel off.I was considering cutting out the center part of the aero wheel covers

Has anyone else been tempted to do the same? How do you all switch between the two if you would like to do that?

Thanks for any input! I tried searching and came up with limited results.

I use this:

You can also ball up some duct tape (sticky side out) and use that to pull out the caps.

I use the same that @TT97 mentioned, and would not cut or modify the aero covers in any way. Its not worth the potential hassle and replacement cost when a $6 suction cup will do it for you.

They are a perfect fit and seems to be the best method of removal

Others have suggested drilling a small hole when using an Allen wrench to pull them out.

This is definitely a much better option

I use a tiny flat head screwdriver to pry the center caps out each time. Takes about 3 seconds each wheel.

I wouldn’t cut the aero caps. Might fly off.

Suction cup is the way to go!

I've switched them out a number of times, just something like a small knife, screwdriver, flat piece of metal and just insert on the side and easily wedge them out.

Thanks guys! I was going to use a screwdriver or knife but I figured it it going to start to beat up the car after some time. I like the suction cup idea and I am going to do that. I don't think duct tape will work for me. Those things really click in there!

thanks, that suction cup is even cheaper! I am not sure duct tape works in my case but I'll get a suction cup
