260 wh/km is very high. You drive a similar speed on a model 3 with aero wheels you’ll probably average 240 - 250 watts per MILE.. so 160 wh/km.

Well, this is not surprising. The two cars are different in drag coefficient (iPace 0.29 vs M3 0.23), weight (iPace 2130kg vs M3 1800kg) and wheel size (iPace 245/50R20 vs M3 235/40ZR19).

Note also that the 260Wh/km I mentioned was with the heating on (outside temperature, as far as I remember, was about 6-7 deg C).

Tesla is making a CCS adaptor for European S and X's so I guess it's not really disallowed.

Tesla confirms Model 3 is getting a CCS plug in Europe, adapter coming for Model S and Model X

There has been talk that hardware will need to be changed out in the S&X to support the adapter. So it is possible that Tesla found a loop-hole to get around the rule that people have talked about. (I'm thinking that the adapter will just be a dumb connector adapter with no electronics, and that all the smarts will have to get put into the car. But until official details get released we just won't know.)
