Switching from ventilated to solid seats

I've had my 90D order in since 12/13. Was going to get black leather ventilated seats with the PUP. But now that ventilated seats have been removed as an option, I'm trying to change my design order to solid ultra white seats. My car hasn't entered into active production yet, so my delivery specialist thinks it might be possible without incurring the $500 change cost.

Anyone else do this? Success or no?

A word of warning, though. The sales people at my Tesla shop said that if I were to change my order after the 2 week period, it will cost 500 AND I'll most likely lose the free supercharging as they'll handle it like a new order.

Tesla is removing the ventilated seat option on new orders. If your order had ventilated seats, you should be fine.

If Tesla calls you and tells you that you can't have the ventilated seats that you ordered, then you should be able to change the color of the seats at no charge, since it is Tesla, and not you, that is causing the order to need to be changed.

Similar situation here on our X90D order. Order confirmed mid December w/o PUP.

Wanted to order the PUP but absolutely did not want the ventilated / perforated seats (makes it harder to clean with kids).

Now that the ventilated / perforated seats have been removed from design studio, we would have been better off ordering last week vs. December.

We have an email out to our OA / DS to see if they can still add the PUP without the change fee.

Are we certain that perforated seats have been removed? I understand ventilated seats have been, but those too are not equal. I have had plenty of cars that have perforated seats that are not ventilated, but of course not the other way around.

I guess that's a possibility, but all mention of ventilation or perforation has been removed from the features list under the Premium Upgrades Package. It's a good question though, because I see two issues...1) The ventilation feature a la Tesla is not that effective according to everything I have read, and 2) The seat material perforations are leading to rips and durability issues.

FWIW, I *still* haven't heard back from my Delivery Experience Specialist.

Did you ever hear from your Delivery Specialist? I got assigned mine late last week, and even though I reached out via email to verify my estimated delivery time, I have not heard from her either. I’m wondering if I could just use the Owner Adviser who took me on my test drive instead, as my contact point for additional information.

Ventilated and perforated seats have been removed. All orders placed somewhere near 1/15/17 were switched to non-perf seats. Since you can't have ventilated without perforated, ventilated seats went away, too. I communicated with my delivery specialist who explained the situation to me. He gave me the option to chose between the two (PUP vent/perf vs. PUP non-vent leather seats) since I placed my order on 12/31. I now have perf/vent seats. Still don't know which is ultimately better between the two. Lots of opinions on the matter, though. Appreciate all the input.
