So I was working with an OA, I am not too happy with how he is performing and I would like to switch to someone else. Is that something I have to request or am I stuck? What if I just go online and place an order?

You should be able to switch to someone else, nothing would be stopping you. My OA was pretty awesome and I'd be happy to refer you to him via PM if you'd like. Once you place your order, you won't be talking much to the OA anymore anyways. I placed my order in store with my OA watching over my shoulder (couldn't resist after the second test drive), but it would have been the same if I did it from the comfort of my home.

Isn’t the OA who you deal with after sales? He’s the Owner Advisor, not the sales advisor, no?

From my experience the "Owner Advisor" was the sales advisor, and then a "Delivery Experience Specialist" was in contact with me prior to delivery.

It's ridiculous how many different "advisers" Tesla employs. They really need to stream-line the whole process.

So... who, if anyone, does what after delivery? I thought the OA was 'your person' to facilitate things *after* delivery. Lol...

Do we have anyone that is 'assigned' to us afterwards, or do we just call service?

I know immediately after Delivery, you might call your delivery person, but that sort of expires quickly... Calling the OA an 'Owner' Advisor when he's not is sorta nuts.

Never heard from mine again after the order was placed...

OA (Owner Advisor) is the sales folks.
“Our Owner Advisors are the critical contributors to accelerating the adoption of sustainable transportation. In this role you will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of leads and converting them into Model S owners through charismatic presentation of our product and superb follow-through.”

DES (Delivery Experince Specialist) handles delivery scheduling, financing, and issues. One point of contact for a due bill and any immediate post sales support.
The Tesla Delivery team is committed to providing the best customer experience from the time an order is placed through the day of delivery. The focus of the Delivery Experience Specialist is to manage valuable relationships over several months and help customers prepare for ownership by covering important topics like charging, financing, registration, trade-ins and appointment logistics. The Delivery Experience Specialist is also expected to wow customers when it comes time to present and acquaint them with their Model S on the most exciting day of all, delivery day. This position is a great opportunity to have a direct impact on the Tesla customer experience and assume a critical responsibility in the company’s rapidly expanding sales operation.”

OS (Orientation Specialist) Folks at delivery day/ pick-up.
The primary goal of the Orientation Specialist is to provide a fun and educational experience for new Tesla customers on their first day of ownership. The Orientation Specialist accomplishes this by assisting with the accurate completion of documents, providing a tailored vehicle orientation, and answering any questions about living with an EV. An implicit responsibility of the Orientation Specialist is to conduct educational conversations and business dealings in a way that creates a superior customer experience that represents Tesla brand values.”

A strong OA really helps through the whole process. I still work with mine for things that come up. And he really helped with my due bill post delivery. Many folks have a favorite OA they have used— it clearly makes a big difference for their overall experience. PM me if someone needs a solid OA (or one of the other folks who likes theirs)— all OAs can work any region (at least in the US).

So, according to *that*, we have no one after we've paid our money. :D Unless there's a section left off there... I emailed my OA about my service issue last night, just FYI, and crickets...

Tesla is so busy around here that sometimes communication is definitely lacking. For the CPO Model S and Inventory Model X we had the same experience..

If you go online and place the order, you will still get the same OA. They're tagged to your account now. If you buy a 2nd car, same OA. I don't know what "SJ" stands for (South Jersey?) but I can recommend an awesome one that helped me out with all my cars if you want.

In my experience and not official according to Tesla descriptions; having a good OA goes a long way during test driving, ordering, locating inventory, etc. They're also key in making sure the handoff to your DS goes smoothly. The DS's job is to make sure you're walked through post ordering until delivery. They're supposed to take over once you've ordered...but mine weren't always the most responsive. My OA stepped in a number of times to help me out.

I wonder about switching too. My advice is to call the general sales line: (888) 518-3752 and ask your questions there. That's what I did when I had to email my OA the same questions multiple times without getting an answer. The advisor who I spoke to on the general sales line was MUCH more on the ball. Now I wonder if I can ask for an official switch? Does it matter if the OA is in a different region? Does it even matter if my vehicle is already ordered?

My guess is San Jose, California.
