Sydney to Port Macquarie & beyond in a P85D

You're right, those are excellent numbers! I think you must’ve had favourable tailwinds while I definitely had unfavourable headwinds. Add to that the efficiencies of the 70D compared to the P85D loaner I drove on the same route (at the speed limit or lower) when I had to stop for a top up charge so I could make the distance.

150 Wh/km vs 190 Wh/km is a huge difference.
I checked my overall average for the 7 day journey which included 4 days running around Sydney and climbing into the Snowy Mountains and back. Overall average was 164wh/km for 3200km under various conditions and winds.

A negative impact on range was the cold.....the initial leg from GC to Port starting at 3.30am was 6 deg. and Snowny mountains was 4-10 deg. Noticed range when cold was approx. 10+wh/km above my normal GC 20 deg. + weather?

Achieved excellent Range from Port SC to Pyrmont Sydney SC at the Casino.

70D with 3 x pax and full of luggage front and rear, with AC, music set on range mode traveling daytime.

381km leg with a stop in Heatherbrae Maccas mid journey. Average 150wh/km over distance. Had 57km rated range left on arrival. (Achievable range approx 440km)

Charge 100% at Port SC....(70D (75 battery) charges with little ramp off even at 99% see attached)

Conclusion = Port to Sydney SC doable in 60D/70D easily! 70D can achieve rated or better!

great to know. I did a trip from Sydney -> Quakers Hill -> Wauchope (essentially Port Macquarie). 4 people, full of luggage, AC on.
I had to stop in Newcastle and charge up for probably 90 mins at 11kW and I only just made it (I think I had a few % left at the destination), I had to slow down to get there, was relentlessy drafting trucks etc. This is in a 70D.
main differences that I can see: your trip is about 30kms shorter than mine, and my trip had rain probably > 50% of the way, often really hard. Unfortunately I didn't keep any eye on the wH/km usage. I'll probably be going up again sooner or later (mother in law is up there), hoping for better weather and an easier trip while we still don't have the Newcastle SC.

The leap from 100km/hr to 125km/hr as a constant cruise lifts my average on a flat dry highway with no appreciable wind from approx 190W/Km to 330 W/Km = 73% rise in electron consumption. In the case of my beast that drops my practical range from 430Kms to Approx. 248km assume one can find 248kms of uninterrupted fun. :D
