TACC and Hold Behavior

Anyone else noticing inconsistencies between the interaction of TACC and hold in stop start traffic? One thing that delighted me when I first got my M3 was that TACC would start the car moving again after being stopped in traffic. The i3 used to require you to touch the accelerator every time.

Recently though I have noticed that TACC will sometimes engage hold and require me to press the accelerator to move off. There seems to be no logic to this behavior, it does it seemingly randomly on the flat or on slopes.

Anyone else notice the same and worked out a pattern?
