Tail Light Wear / Damage

Hi, Not sure if this has always been like this, but first time noticing it... looks like the top of my tail light assemblies have been worn down, and a silver reflective surface is visible. Anyone else have this issue?

Do you park your vehicle outside? Could be from UV damage?

Could be... its only 10 months old. I ordered a black acrylic marker, gonna try to touch up the edges.

Maybe a ppf, ceramic coating, or even a black vinyl covering that portion of that light can help with slowing down degradation.
