    Tampa Bay

    region launches

    plug-in electric vehicle partnership

Join the Get Ready Tampa Bay team, elected officials and leaders in the Tampa Bay region at the launch of the region’s plug-in electric vehicle “get ready” initiative.

The United States has a goal of having at least 1 million plug-in electric vehicles on the road in the next five years. Get Ready Tampa Bay will help identify potential challenges and develop solutions to make this goal a reality. The use of electric transportation will reduce our regions dependence on foreign oil, improve air quality, and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

    Date: Tuesday, June 22, 2010

    Time: 10:00 a.m. – Noon

    Press Conference at 10:30 a.m

Location: Tropicana Field parking lot #6,

    1299 3rd Ave S

    St. Petersburg, fl

    (Map Link)

Electric car “drive and ride” demonstrations will be offered.

Get Ready Tampa Bay is a regional collaboration between the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council, local governments, Rocky Mountain Institute, Progress Energy Florida, Tampa Electric, Florida Power & Light, business partners, and other groups interested in preparing Tampa Bay for the roll-out of electric vehicles in the next few years. Cities and regions that demonstrate they are getting “plug-in ready” will attract the vehicle manufacturers to launch in their area. Michael,

Have you contacted Iris Gaillard at Tesla South Florida.
    Tesla South Florida
Palm beach to St Petersburg is 203 miles according to google so they may be willing to bring a demonstrator for the day.
