I ended up getting the full kit from TAPTES via Amazon, (Amazon Link Here for TAPTES) which includes the seats, headrests, front armrest and rear side pieces. The 'vegan' NAPA leather feels nice and supple, with no odor out of the box. Packaging comes via a nice big thick box, so UPS, FedEX or USPS would have a tough time destroying your stuff in transit. What I like about the fact that it comes in a big box is, there is minimal folding of the seat covers! The only part that was folded is the rear seat bench section, and as you can see in the pics, no wrinkling, which was something I was worried about. This is some really nice material!

Let me preface by saying that this really needs to be a 2 person job. It can be done with 1 person (I did), but the tips of your fingers are going to get destroyed pushing, tucking, yanking, and prying the leather and plastic bits into every crack, and you will save yourself an hour with 2 people. It took me 2 hours by myself, but I went slow and took my time. I think it turned out amazing and looks stock. I like the fact that the seats have perforations, something the stock seats don't have. Maybe in the winter, this will help with the heating of the seats?? It's currently 110 degrees F where I live, so trying out the seat heating at this point is futile. I don't think it even drops below 75 degrees at night here. Will the covers diminish the seat heaters? Probably, but for me it isn't a big deal. It never gets below freezing where I live.

There are a couple of things to note before installation and I recommend watching the YouTube video link below on installing this ahead of time. The rear bench seat comes off for that part of the install, but there are a couple of wires that you need to disconnect and must be careful when pulling the bench up. Pre-2021 refresh models appear to have a heated seat wire on each side, while the 2021-2022 have both heated seat wires on the drivers side of the car. (I took a pic of me pointing to it on my 2021 below.) There are 2 levers under the front part of the seat bench that you push to the right to allow the bench to pop up. You'll see this in the video. The front seats have a flap on their bottom rear that connect via 2 tabs under each seat. (The pic below of the rear of the front seat with the flap is what I am referring to.) Those big round discs you see in the pics below all get tucked in between the upper and lower portions of the seats and those are what help hold the covers in place. Both the front and rear seats utilize these and these will destroy your finger tips.

Before you start, set both front seats as high up and to the front as possible. Makes it easier to install the upper seat covers first. Here is the video I watched: YouTube Video Link

In the end, I wanted to both, cover my stock seats to protect them AND change the interior to white, but still have my car look stock. The TAPTES seat covers def accomplished my goal, so if you have any questions, let me know.

I had to do another post, in order to put all pics on here. I also just realized, they posted in reverse order. So, the final pics are first, while the beginning pics are on the post below. About 20 pics in total.

Page 2 of pics. You can see the perforation in the first pics and a nice, up close photo of the material as well.

It's a bit misleading for them to call it "nappa" leather when it is vegan leather (I see this in a lot of other listings also, which presumably also is not real leather). I've been looking around and it would seem there aren't any vendors that actually sell ones with real leather.

My concern is with the breathability of the seats. I do wonder if these are any better, especially in current hot weather. Even after cooled off, the seats not breathing means your back and bottom can get sweaty real quick. Looked at reviews for various ones available on Amazon and none mention usage during hot weather.

I got the ones below as they match my black interior more (while still having a lighter section for seat surface that hopefully helps with heat after under sun), but in the current hot weather they are not breathable at all (and may be vinyl instead of PU). They have perforations also, but they don't go all the way through (there is a foam padding layer underneath), so kind of worthless. Currently dealing with it with towels. I have some mesh cushions on the way to see if it helps (similar to ones used on motorcycles).

Do the perforations on these Taptes ones go all the way through? Any review on how breathable these seats are?

They look great (as do a few others available across the web when freshly installed) but I have seen a few 6/12+ months follow-ups where these and others did not stand up to relatively short-term use.

Come back in 6-12-18 months and reply with how they are holding up at that point.
I'll be sure to update every few months. I drive my car daily, so we shall see, but I'm optimistic though.

I will say that I am pleased with what I have! I've seen other products and they don't look this good to me

I got a set of these bad boys for the front, I ordered the vegan leather not knowing they wouldn’t be an oem white. You gotta pay for the premium ones for that apparently. Look forward to getting the ones that match better. if anyone wants to try taptes out, i threw mine on the marketplace here for cheap.

I know it's only been a few months but any update?

Still looks like new. Wiped them down the other day, and the bit of dirt that there was came right off. I don't really anticipate any wear issues for a couple of years. I'll take a couple pics tomorrow and post them up, if you'd like?

I really got these seat covers to protect my investment, so my interior looks like new when it's time to sell in 4-5 years. So, I can just throw stuff in the back seat and not worry if it's dirty or what have you. The added benefit was changed my interior color from black to white.

It does look great for seat covers. Can someone chime in on the front seat bottom comfort after adding the covers? I am trying to find a solution for the OEM seat bolster pressing in my hips. Are the center section padded more than the sides so you aren’t sitting into the wedge as much?

Still good?

I’d say it does. In my Y, without the seat covers, my back sweats all the time. (I have black seats in my Y).
In my 3, with these covers it doesn’t nearly make me sweat as much. I guess because of the air pocket it creates? Or maybe the white reflecting more light, the entire seat stays cooler? Not sure?
