Tax and registration questions for used cars

Hi all,
here are some questions about buying a used car, CPO or private.
1. For private trades, do we need to pay sales tax (around 9%) to the government?
2. How about the registration fees? If in the same state, I think we don't need to pay the registration fee again in the same year?
3. any other fees are collected in private sale? How much is it in the case of a $100K MX sale?
4. How about CPO cars for the questions above?

Depends on the state you are in
In California, you will fill out the price you paid (if private purchase) and you will pay sales tax on that amount.
If the registration is not due yet (ca registered vehicle), you'll only pay the transfer fee.
