Tax incentives/rebates in Canada

Received mine by direct deposit as well...hey, did you receive any documentation with your direct deposit?

I got my direct deposit last Wednesday and picked up my car on New Year's Eve.

Any word on whether Tesla will be handling this at the point of sale? I realize when early Sig cars were being delivered they weren't set up for that, but am hoping by Mar/Apr I won't have to wait :smile:

They were set up for it in 2010, when I got the first-ever EV rebate in Ontario. In fact, Ontario really had never paid one before, and they accidentally mailed me the check instead of Tesla. (Yes I did return it!)

Sometime since then Tesla apparently stopped doing it point-of-sale. Gee, I wonder why??? :biggrin:

Like I have said before, it's pathetic and disgusting that in Canada, there is (a) no federal rebate plan or HST exemption on all EV's and (b) there are import duties on EV's.

Time for the clowns at the Federal and Provincial level to wake up!

Agreed; however, it's pretty clear that Prime Minister Stephen Harper is an avid anti-environmentalist. I don't expect anything to happen while he is in power.

Now what's Canada's excuse for not having a federal rebate plan or HST exemption for EV's? Even the Liberal super majority is bought and paid for by oil companies

With all of the Provincial initiatives currently going on, it is disappointing that Mr. T. has not jumped into the ring with any Federal initiatives,

He has certainly found time in his busy schedule to examine pipeline issues...

I'm sort of surprised that Tesla hasn't updated their website to reflect the new rebate status. Still only shows $3,000 for Ontario, instead of the $14,000- though that info IS on the Incentives Support page. But it should definitely be figured into the "Custom Build Calculator"
