Tesla 3 and Pixel 6 - Tesla App to run in background

I've been trying o get the Tesla app to continuously run in the background when I'm not in the car. I have location on. It seems I have to pair to my bluetooth each time - no option to continuously stay connected. Any help will be appreciated.

Press and hold the tesla app icon. Select App Info. Select Battery. Select Unrestricted.

If the problem is the car not unlocking, my mistake was swiping away the persistent notification rather than turning it off by holding on it (which merely hides it while allowing the Tesla app to run in the background).

If the problem is the Bluetooth audio needing repairing every time I get in the car - I'm running into that too, I think I may have solved it by doing a software update on my phone? Will try and update if it happens again.
