well, that is they will be calling it something else...lol they abandoned the 'Model E' trademark. Tesla abandons trademark
That is possible. I noticed the Model Y application is still active, which shouldn't be subject to similar claims.
Boo. I thought it worked just fine. It made for a playful inside joke like the sound system going to 11.
I guess we are back to guessing what it will be now. Back to my Model M = midsize. Not as sExy though.
No one names cars anymore. CTS, Model S, 535....etc. coming up with a good name is hard I bet so maybe that's why
I personally think it hurt Acura when they changed from great names like the Legend and Integra to, uh, R something? I don't even have a clue of any Acura names other than MDX... but that isn't exactly a great name. Loved the names they used. Wouldn't mind Tesla having some good names, rather than just letters, if it comes to that.
The cars are made of aluminium so why not call the new one: Foil. Big oil might read it another way, but that was never intended...
they should call the third gen car the model T. The reason being is that it going to be the biggest game changer since Henry Ford started selling his model T almost 100 years ago. We went from horse and carriage to horseless carriages. Its now time to change the old guard. Im looking forward to seeing what they will call it regardless of my thought. either way I will be getting one when it comes out.
If Ford went after Tesla for Model E you can sure bet they'd put all their weight behind fighting someone using Model T.
But we don't know that this has anything to do with Ford. I think it is much more likely that Tesla never planned on using Model E. S, X, E carries way too much risk. There are lots of humorless people in the world.
Something tells me part of it is branding. A 35k base car is STILL very expensive for the general populace. I doubt anyone would want to know their high end purchase to them is called the Model E for Economy. It may be simple as marketing.
I think it's the E-series vans that they would be using to dispute it. That bend said, I am surprised Mercedes did not have an issue with both the S and E model choices by Tesla (investors or not).
I have to admit I am a bit disappointed. Guess I'll just have to drive my Model S until I feel better.
