Any chance you installed lowering links on your car by chance?

You can tell this was a road under construction and had not received the top coat of paving yet. The drainage grates visible at the side of the road give some indication of the likely height of the manhole cover as these are installed such that they will be flush once the final paving. It's hard to fully judge from the photo, but these don't seem to be more than maybe 3-5 cm above the roadway surface. I would not expect a car to bottom over something that is only elevated even 5 cm above the road surface.

Tesla contends that "the car behaved as expected". I really don't understand how that could possibly be the case. Thoughts?

Wonder why you never posted pics of the car for us to see what you were talking about. If only non-US cars have this feature we here would all be interested in what the car looks like under the hood
