Tesla adding charging stations - that are not theirs.

In case anybody didn't read the link BTW- this is only in Europe at the moment. Where the car already has a CCS port (or for older cars, at least an available CCS adapter).


Speculation in the link is that it'll maybe start happening in the US once evGo gets around to rolling out more chargers with a tesla handle on the end (right now they're only in SF)

This is absolutely the main factor of why this would only be for Europe for quite a while. They can send people to those other charging stations, knowing the owners will be able to plug in and use them because of that plug compatibility with the CCS standard. But they definitely won't do that in the U.S., where there is no way to use CCS and most owners don't have a CHAdeMO adapter. So can you imagine the $#%tstorm of negative publicity if people get navigated on a route to a charger they can't even use?
