Just like the current red color they look good online but when I went to look at the red on the modely y it was not even close. So much so I paid the extra 2k for MSM. but that cherry color looks good online.

I wish Tesla could upgrade the Fremont paint shop so that they could do those colors. But, they can't stop production and I don't know where they could build another one on site.

That's not a bad thing, my family loves the Mazda red!
There are so many red Teslas in my development that I went with white. Something different.
I saw a purple Tesla recently. I'm sure it was a custom paint job. Made me do a double-take.

I love my blue for the same reason. I show up at the local SC and it’s. White, white, white. The few odd colors tend to be earlier S variants. There is a off silver brown i have seen a few times. I think it’s callled “titanium “ on early model Ss. Looks awesome.

Anyone considering ordering the model y from Germany and shipping it over? It’s like $7k cheaper with the new colors and arguably better build quality. Wonder what shipping logistics would be

You have to either drive it for a while in Germany or pay to have it converted to us standards. But that could be a lot easier than an ICE where smog laws come into effect. I’ve know several folks who did this for Porsche and BMWs. PIA but they wanted very specific EU versions so it was worth it to them. One guy was army so he bought and registered it there for several months which made it easier bringing it home. Not sure. If it’s worth it for paint. Plus nobody on this side of the ocean could touch it up or more if something happened to the car. I read that the red is actually several layers. What a b@@tch to touch up if it’s even possible.

I read that the nice look comes from the many layers of paint, maybe even of different paints on top of each other.

What happens if you get damage?
Can a normal bodyshop alos paint a panel or a door in these colors?

Long they have the paint codes, you can make any color by the paint specialist.
