Tesla and the “Best Of” lists.

It’s been gratifying to see Teslas highly rated, awarded and compared favorably with other cars. However… Something strange seems to happen whenever I search for The Lists. You know, those best-of lists that car review sites put together. Example:

Car and Driver: Best New Sedans of 2019-2020
“We think these are the best sedans you can buy today.”
  • Honda Civic
  • Honda Civic Si
  • Mazda 3
  • Genesis G70
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia
  • Mercedes-Benz C-class
  • Honda Accord
  • Mazda 6
  • Toyota Camry
  • Nissan Altima
  • Mercedes-Benz E-class
  • Mercedes-AMG E53
  • Audi A6
  • Nissan Maxima
  • Kia Cadenza
  • Mercedes-Benz S-class
  • Genesis G90
  • Audi A8
Hmm, there seems to be a prominent brand missing from this long list. In fact, there are no American brands on the list. OK, I can maybe understand the Chevy Malibu not making the cut… But no Tesla?

I'm not surprised at all. There is a misinformation campaign going on and a lack of information/positive stories in the media. Majority of stories with tesla as the subject are negative. Just look what happened the other day with the positive news about Tesla profit. All the shorts are pissed off and went into hiding.
