Tesla App/Phone key requires periodic re-registeration???

I am finding that about once a month, my (IOS) Tesla app/phone key stops working and asks me to re-enter my login, password and re-register the phone as a key. Is this normal? Bug? Feature?

It is certainly a nuisance, particular if one is in a hurry, all of a sudden you find you have to spend 5 minutes and rack your brain to remember your Tesla password...

Periodically it does require a fresh login. I would say about once every 3 months?
However, it does not require me to register the phone as a key.

I have the Tesla app (for my solar and powerwalls) and I am on android and about every couple of months, I have to log back in.

very annoying as it happens without warning and seems almost random...
if this behavior is on purpose, a security measure or something, at least Tesla could arrange something like Google Voice does. It gives you a time window to re-verify authorization. Say 10-days, re-verify at your convenience.
