Tesla App Store Updates?

Any news about meaningful software updates? I know the App Store was an Elon dream that is unlikely to happen, but any glimmers of phone/media interface updates? Just watched Volvo's Polestar 2 reveal, (3:44-4:15 ) they bagged on Tesla trying to do everything on their own. My son's car has new Apple Carplay and while it is not perfect, it allows perfect streaming/mirroring of Waze, Maps, Google Maps, phone, contact photos, music, sirius XM, etc. I know Tesla could make something better, they crushed it with the fart app, but in 2019 this stuff is in just about every car, but ours.

They made the browser. And the media app. And the current nav app that's so much worse than the previous one.

Having an own app store eco system and an SDK that has to be maintained is a huge undertaking. Not to speak about sandboxing etc.

Them updating to chromium could perhaps enable webapps sort of like Chrome apps.
